A Season of Appreciation and Reflection On 2019 Accomplishments

As we reach the end of the year and look ahead to the start of a new year in 2020, I continue to be humbled by the amazing relationships we have built with our client companies.
Whether we have worked together for many years or just started working together this year, our entire CPA firm appreciates your continued confidence in our accounting, tax, and business services.

Our CPA Firm’s Accomplishments in 2019
Our team realized numerous accomplishments in 2019. We added new clients, expanded our involvement in the Houston business community, and helped clients make the transition to adopt the new ASC 842 accounting standard for capitalizing lease agreements.
– Earlier this year, I was re-elected to the Greater Heights Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Our CPA firm celebrated the re-election at the annual Heights Chamber Gala in September.
– Throughout this year, our CPA firm has expanded our commitment to supporting entrepreneurs through our Entrepreneur Program. Senior Associate Daniel Garcia has embraced this commitment by engaging with business leaders and start-up companies in the Greater Houston area.
Daniel and I took the message to the International Quilt Festival at the George R. Brown Convention Center in October, where we gave a presentation on tax issues and tax considerations for entrepreneurs.
– We also supported our clients with the transition to adopting and implementing ASC 842.
The new accounting standard for how to recognize asset lease agreements on financial statements was one of the largest changes to the accounting industry in history. We worked closely with clients to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of the new standard.
Looking Forward to 2020
Looking ahead to 2020, we will be working closely with clients in the first quarter of the year to complete 2019 tax returns. We then look forward to getting a head start on tax planning and tax preparation for 2020 and beyond.
